Observed every October 6, this day honors the rich heritage and incredible contributions of German-Americans to the United States. It marks the anniversary of 13 German Mennonite families from Krefeld who arrived in Philadelphia in 1683 and founded Germantown the first German settlement in the original thirteen colonies.
From culture to innovation, the German-American legacy continues to shape America.
